Some women have them before the baby, some after. I had mine about a month before my due date. I was due june 13th, and it was around the 13th in May I had my baby shower. my son came almost 2 weeks early, he was born June 2nd so...... I would say at least a month before your due date as you never know!

It's tradition to have a baby shower about 2 weeks before the baby is due. This makes it easier for you because you will probably know the sex of the baby and what items you will need.

Usually, you have a baby shower 4 weeks before your due date...just in case the baby comes early.

Normally, most women have their baby showers anywhere from 4-8 weeks prior to their due date. I had mine 6 weeks before my due date. I have heard of women having them even after the baby is born, though.

Never before that scary three month start is done with. Depends then if you find out what bub will be or else you get a lot of yellow and white stuff! Tradition aside I think you should have it when you are over the morning sickness and before you get too full of baby to be able to eat all the yummy stuff at the party. I reckon 5 months.

As far as what day of the week...
My best friend, who planned my shower said that Sunday at 1:00 was the best day and time. At first I thought it was a dumb idea, most parties are on Saturday. She said usually on Saturday, people have plans for the weekend. When Sunday rolls around, people don't have much going on, they are all ready up and going after church, and are looking for something to do. Boy, was she right! I had so many guests show up, we didn't know if we had enough room in the house!!! My friend said it happens every time she plans any shower/party on that day/time. Good Luck!

You should plan your shower about 11/2 - 1 month before your due date.

6-7 months. This way, everyone knows what you're having, if you're finding out. You are very pregnant, but you may not be miserable, like you maybe towards the end and by the way, you should not be having your own shower. Thats not good etiqutte, someone, a close friend or relative should be throwing it in your honor.

I think you should definitely wait until your out the dangerous stage, so maybe anywhere between 5 to 8 weeks before your due date just in case your baby decides to come a little early
