I am looking for a nice room in Laughlin, NV for a small trip coming up March 01 (Thursday) to March 03 (Saturday). Maybe something with a river view??? We are not really picky . . just something that we wont get murdered in . . :) Any tips / help would be great!

I have to give "licneva" credit I searched a few travel sites and the hotels own web site and the best deal I could find was was the same one she did, at Harrah's. http://www.harrahs.com >on the right side of the web page about half-way down you will see "Hot Deals Laughlin"> this brings up a special rate calendar. All of the prices in red are specials. You got lucky, the rates are pretty good for that weekend - $44.33 ROH and $59.33 for a premium river view room> 3 night average rate

Which beats the best rates I could find at Ramada $69 for a river view and Don Laughlin's $74 for a river view.

The Colorado Belle - $39.67
Edgewater - $39.67
RIver Palms - $$37.33
Aquarius - $55.67
Golden Nugget - $69.67

this site covers the video poker scene in Laughlin
http://www.groups.yahoo.com/group/vpfree >casino database>Laughlin

VP Free lists all the good video poker to be found at each casino. click on the hotel for details on machines and locations within the casino. There are also details on each hotels slot club. The VP in Laughlin has vastly improved over the past two years, there were only 3 casinos that had "playable" VP the last time I was there. Now they all have 9/6 JOB(99.54%) and or 10/7 DB(100.17%) . For the really low roller the Colorado Belle has nickel 9/6 JOB and the Edgewater has nickel 10/7 DB, this is very unusual as these games at the nickel level are rare.

*If you do decide to stay/play at Harrah's (and) you ever intend to(do) go to Las Vegas and enjoy going to shows(AND) you have never has a "Total Rewards" slot club card from Harrah's >The Harrah's in LV gives two free tickets to the best afternoon show in town "Mac King" for first time sign ups. So, when in Laughlin only have one of you sign up, ask for two, or more, because if you're like me you will leave(forget/lose) them in the machine I hate to stand in line to get another card. The both of you can play on one card, yes, at the same time on separate machines. The computer will total your points into the one account.

Later: I just received an e-mail from the Colorado Belle you can get rates of $19 for Thursday and $45 for Friday and Saturday($36.33 avg). phone 1-866-352-3553 there was no promotion code. The Colorado belle is a fun place, but like the Edgewater it's rooms are more like an old motel 6 and if you want a river view room they tack on an extra $35 a night. So, IMHO if you want the River View room and a nicer hotel/room at that, then Harrah's is the better deal at $59

I`ve stayed at the Stratosphere twice and its very reasonably priced - its not a headliner but all the more relaxed for it. Its at the head of the trolley route so easy to get a seat. The food is good and the rooms are good to. Excellent value from their loyalty card. Its also right next door to the biggest gift shop in the world. $119 direct maybe cheaper on a discount site

Try Harrah's, the only hotel with a beach, it's really clean, the buffet is the best in town. Book your stay at the hotel's website https://www.harrahs.com/casinos/harrahs-laughlin/hotel-casino/property-home.shtml You won't be disappointed.
