I am 16 weeks pregnant and I have had slight cramping on and off since my 8th week. My Dr. said it's part of the process making room for the baby, and the uterus expanding. She said some are "round ligament pains" which are the muscles that run from your hip across your abdomen on both sides and they are being stretched as well from the expansion. It's nothing to worry about unless it's worse that a period cramp. If there's ever any spotting with it, call your doctor immediately. I know I worried a lot every time I cramped at first, but know that it's normal. Nothing to worry about if it's mild. Congratulations and best of luck to you.

YES!!! That is how I know to test.... With my period I have intense cramps right before it comes.... But this time it was more dull pain over an extended amount of time ( about a week ) and then every now and then i got them until around 11 weeks.
The doctor told me it is just your body stretching and making room for the baby. Plus all the extra blood flow going to that one part of the body... It's actually pretty amazing :)
EDIT: the doctor also told me though, if the cramps get WORSE than you normal period cramps and are accompanied with bleeding to immediately go to the ER or call the office.

Yup, its normal. You constantly feel like you are going to start your period but you never do. I had those "period" like cramps til 9 weeks. Sucks cuz nobody tells you this stuff about pregnancy. They just say you don't get it for 9 months but they don't tell you that you feel like you are going to...lol. Its your body stretching making room for the baby. Good luck and congrats!!!

Yes it's normal to have a little around the 6 to 8 week mark. Call your Dr. if they get very bad.

I'm 13 weeks, and I've had cramping the whole time. My dr said it's normal due to the uterus expanding and moving.

I had cramping, bloating, and spotting. Basically I had my period but then it went away within about 3 weeks.
