My daughter was ( she is 13 months now) on Nutramigen ..it is almost the same as alimentum... ( my daughter was still having problems with the Alimintum formula..that is when we put her on Nutramigen) Anyways, the answer is no not right now because cheese and yogurt contain milk in them. My daughter NOW can handle small amounts of yogurt or cheese but she is now switched to a Soy Next step formula..because she still can not handle milk or regular soy milk( she used to not be able to handle soy like yours!!) Just stay away from cheese, yogurt or stuff like that!!

Do not give them to her..Cottage cheese is very hard on litle tummy not to mention it can cause constipation on little ones that have no intolerances, as far yogurt talk to your Dr. before giving that to her because it contains a live bateria in it, and you do not want to feed her something like that with out the Dr.s ok.

no no no! you need to stick to rice based immitation products. There is a product called rice dream at the grocery store and it is a immitation milk...you can use it to make things like ice cream and use it in place of milk in recipes and stuff....any dairy is bad if she is lactose and soy intollerant...that includes yogurt and cheese. Cottage cheese is basically just curltled milk.

I know a baby on alimentum and they were told not to give any milk products until after the baby was one and to try in tiny amounts to see if it would bother the baby

Yes they are out of the question. They cotain just about same amount as milk.Yogurt might be less potent but I would rather not give my child those products. If she was lactose intolerant.I'm sure you will do good and find the right formula, or breast milk is the best for babie's by the way.

With baby's new immune system it's better not to jump start it by giving her things she's intolerant to. I am lactose intolerant and CAN eat cheese and yogurt, but in a baby, that might not be wise.

My understanding is that yogurt is OK because of the enzymes in it that make it more easily digestable, but I don't think cottage cheese falls into that catagory.

There is low levels of lactose in things like cottage cheese and yogurt.... I would try it and see if she reacts to it.
