The meanest teacher I ever had was Mrs. T in 12th grade. I had her for Cooperative Office Education--a class where I had regular school subjects during the morning and worked at a local bank in the afternoon. She was always on to me about the way I looked, dressed, etc. She was forever commenting that my skirts were too short, my hair was too straight and long, my make-up was "not right." It was 1971, and I was considered very pretty with a cute figure. I was a good employee at the bank, no one ever commented in a bad way on my appearance , and I was offered a full-time job after high school graduation (which I took for the summer before leaving for college). I think she was jealous of me because she had her own daughter in class, and she didn't measure up to some of us in the class (looks-wise). I don't know for sure if that was the reason, but I remember thinking it at the time. Now that I'm a teacher myself, I remember those feelings Mrs. T left with me, and I NEVER judge a student on their looks or dress. I feel I am very lenient in these areas, and I think students have a right to express themselves through their own appearance.

The more you know about your student helps a lot with lesson plans. I the student has to do many chores around the house there is no opportunity to do homework assignments from class. If the family can’t afford a computer then don’t assign work that needs to be researched on the web or typed. The neighborhood itself can dictate the methods a teacher my use. If the child comes from a family that talks loud all the time and the teacher talks loud, what is said may go in one ear and out the other because the child is used to it. In this scenario the teacher would know a low voice would create a change that would draw that Childs attention. The teacher is looking for ways best suited to teach the child not to interfere with family privacy. This is some of what I was taught in Teacher’s College years ago She did ask.

Her name was Mrs. Slinkard. She was my sixth-grade teacher. For reasons no one could ever explain, she hated me. It was evident in the videotape of my 6th-grade graduation. She had this huge smile plastered all over her face as she handed out diplomas. But when they read my name, that smile turned into an ugly scowl. I picked up my diploma, went back to my seat, and the smile came back. It's on videotape, and it's so obvious it's ridiculous.

They seemed mean only when I misbehaved which was more than I should have.
Romans 13:1-4 "Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation. For rulers are not a to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil."
