The thermostatic control is gummed up & reacting intermittently to extreme heat , closing then extreme cold , opening . If competent , dismantle , mark positions lime?, soak in vinegar until clean , re assemble this may work several times, but in all honesty dependent on age an electric shower is not really worth the effort & has a hard life , usually element that goes , you must be in a hard water area .

We have a tankless water heater and it cuts out because of heat buildup in the heating element! This was caused by dirt and crud in the system when the city dug up some pipe and never told us (thanx alot TMU).

Are you getting the same water flow through it as before the prob?

Make sure U got the appropriate amount of current going to it!

Hello Cretin. You obviously have an electric shower. The shower head needs descaling or a new shower head fitting. Get a new shower head that has a rub clean facility (Approx £10.00 ). No more worries. BB.

a simple test is to remove the shower head by unscrewing it from the hose. then turn on the shower, holding the open end of the hose into the bath/shower tray.
if the water stays hot then you have too much limescale build up in the holes in the shower head.
buy a new shower head with flexible teats which makes it easy to get rid of limescale build up, by simply running your thumb over them.
they cost about £10 or less.

Possibly a faulty temperature thermostat. This cuts in if water overheats and comes back on when temperature is stable again.
