Does anyone else want to see Martin Scorsese lose in the Best Director category again?

I really cant put my finger on it but I have had enough with this "Martin Scorsese doest have an Oscar" stuff. Who cares? Maybe he doesnt have one for a reason! Anyone else tired of hearing that he needs to win and want to see him lose?

Some people here have said "he's a brilliant director & long past due" Yeah thats true, the key word is PAST due. This is not the movie for him to win on as it isnt close to the caliber of a few of his others

But I would like to point out another couple of directors that were brilliant and never won an Oscar for best Director: Oliver Stone and Stanley Kubrick. If he doesnt win, to be classified with them as brilliant non-oscar winners isnt really a bad thing is it? I think it would be better he never wins it to be classified with those directors.....specially Kubrick

Martin Scorsese is one of the most brilliant directors in Hollywood. If anyone deserves an oscar it is him. With all of the great films he has made - he should have had at least 3 oscars by now!

i do. i have seen the departed, and it is over rated crap. as for the "martin doen' have an oscar" thing, i think its similar to the "Michelle Kwan doesn't have a gold medal" syndrome. except that michelle kwan deserves an olympic gold more than scorese deserves the oscar.

Hells no. He's a brilliant director and is long past due. Look how long it took Speilberg to win one..do you think he's overated also?
