I don't mean to sound like I'm being a sceptic, but it's just like any other day but has been built up for businesses to make lots of money.

And yes, I am single, but even when I am in a relationship, I have hated this day. I expect my partner to make the effort all the time, not just on Valentine's day when the world expects you to, and puts up the prices while they're at it!

I think it up to each person how much to spend or not. But agreed if it is only one overpriced day a year that love is shown, something is terribly wrong.

This Valentine's Day is special for me because it's the first one I actually get to spend with a girl. Prior to this, I've always dreaded Valentine's Day because the sight of happy couples in each other's arms was always too much for me to take.

I totally agree that for lovers, Valentine's Day should not be an excuse to be 'extra loving' and put in less effort all year round... just as Christians worship God every day, not just on Sundays. Still, overpriced flowers and gifts for Valentine's Day leave me convinced that it is all just a huge conspiracy by the people in the business industry.

My different option is to purchase myself a small bottle of wine and cherry flavored 15 august 1945 sweet and watch a sturdy action picture. or maybe i will take a blinding bubble bathtub.

Yes, Valentines day is just a big con dreamed up by an American business man to make more money from stupid morons and fools.

I totally agree!!! Every day is the day you should show your love to that special one. But you know American capitalism...we will do anything to make a buck. All of my Valentines Day's have sucked, either because of someones expectations or because it was one of the few days love was glorified.

when you are in love every day should be a valentines day.
so you are right just another day to get money out of people, and i have noticed they even charge more for flowers around valentines day.

i am sick of it...always have been too...if a guy could make an effort everyday in a relationship, it would be nice...what makes people think they can show love and appreciation just one day a year.
