what does it mean when a guy kisses you on the head but say he just wants to be friends why do guys do that cause it can send the wrong signal.

What's the mixed signal? He makes out with you. He kisses you on the head. He says he just wants to be friends. There's no mixed signal here. You're reading too much into nothing.
Maybe you're thinking that because he makes out with you that he may want more than just friendship. You'd be wrong. That's not how a guy is wired. A guy can make out with you, or have sex with you and not want a relationship with you.

some guys are just kind that way. It might be an endering thing, not an attraction thing. If there is a small chance that he likes you, and just cant control himself and must kiss you, but say that he doesnt like you like that, just as a friend. It means that he is trying to control his feelings because you are not worthy enough for him, and he would feel ashamed to have you as a girlfriend. I know it sounds harsh. I am going to go more with the, he says what he means and take that as a truth. if you can kiss a friend, that means you are comfortable with yourself to break that boundry, and it sounds like he is a good friend because he told you that he doesnt like you more than a friend. How many guys do that? honestly. Either way, find someone else. hes not the guy for you.

Why do girls try to read messages into what guys are saying rather than just listening to him?
He said he wants to be friends. That means he wants to be friends. A kiss on the head does not change that.

he probably just wants to be friend a kiss on the head means next to nothing it can be like a brother and sister thing to. Maybe thats how he kissed you as a sister but a friend.

why does it send the wrong signal,perhaps they do want to be freinds and are just expressing freindship,maybe there is someone you are thinking about that you wish had other ideas if so talk with him about it and let him know how you feel and if he is only expressing freindship that you had rather he didnt....good luck

Seems to me that he likes that you like him but doesn't want to date so he's trying to tell you he doesn't want to date and string you along so you still like and flirt with him.
