rhetorical as this question is, it pertains metaphorically to the intestinal fortitude you need in order to survive this day, whether being attached and looking to find the perfect gift and create the ideal circumstance to say "I love you" on this day, or being single and having to endure all those around you getting and giving love while cupid passes you by yet another year.. it does almost feel as though your intestines are wrapping about your whole being, slowly smothered by your own guts.. I expected more humor out there; some answers are a bit stilted...yes, I know this day was named after some supposed "saint"..I'm still waiting for someone to flail their arms and say "does not compute, does not compute" *L*.. I knew there'd be at least one gay reference *shrug*...I liked the candy hearts answer, though..

What is the basis for your question? I think the holiday is named after St. Valentine and not after a tangled portion of the human anatomy.
