You mean the first one? Where do you get race from? I don't think it was satire, but it definately had a political theme. On second thought, if I'm not mistaken, one of the movies handled the issue of militant black nationalism (no I'm not joking).
"Fourth feature in the simian series has apes domesticated and turned into work slaves in the near future. Along comes Ceaser, son of Cornelius and Zera who died in the third film, who leads his chimp brothers in rebellion against the human oppressors, thus creating the time loop that leads to the first film."

To be honest I think it was a little of both. The difference between Apes (Orangutan, Chimps, and Gorillas - superior to the lowly humans) is definitely a statement about the treatment of people based on skin type. The way the different Apes worked against each other when confronting the issues of race is a statement on the inability of governments (or government parties) to work together to come to sensible conclusion. Anyway, that is what I think - and I used to be a Republican in the 80's ,but have since shifted my views to the Democratic side (although I do not vote for "Parties", I vote for individuals and what they stand for.

GWB has , as far as the press goes, an even thicker Teflon coating than Ronald Reagan had. Remember how quickly they jumped on his invade Iraq campaign? The list is too long but we all know he is a prime target for satire and if you look in the right places you will find plenty of satirical comments on GWB, or the Smirking Chimp as he is often identified.

I would like to answer this question but I dont want to be voted off the Island, Some people just post questions to weed out whatever is not their political standing just so they can report them...What a waste of space for a good question that could be bringing mankind together,Which in fact was something those damn dirty apes would pull.

Neither. I think it was showing de-evolution. From what I remember of it (haven't seen it since I was in high school), I thought it had religious connotations.
Wait, are we talking about the original, or the remake? I like the original much better.

I say it was an entertaining movie. "Get your hands off of me you damned dirty ape!"
What if it was both political AND racial?? It was a religious statement, too! Man-handle Moses and God'll blow your world up!
