I dont think its a choice. I believe that God made people gay. If they had a choice why would they choose to be made fun of, persecuted, and ridiculed? I think when people say that its a "choice" theyre so naive and closed minded. By the way this is a striaght person speaking.

Back in the day, it was viewed as a choice, now a days, it is more out in the open, and people talk about it being not a choice. Some say it is genetic.
I guess as more knowledge comes about, the terminology will evolve.

I chose to act on my lifestyle as a lesbian. I could have easily chosen to be miserable for life and pretended i was straight. BUT i CHOSE to live my life for me. I wasn't born straight. I wasnt born lesbian. I was born an infant. A innocent child with no knowledge of my sexuality or my preferences. It wasn't until i grew older and began experimenting & experiencing life that i came to find what i desired & what makes me fulfilled is other women.

Being gay is a choice, no doubt about it. Did you see gay people years ago? VERY few. That's because all of society back then rejected gays, and so they preferred not to be gay. It was also seen as, ans is, wrong to be gay. I HIGHLY doubt that being gay is even a genetic tendency.

I think it is the way they are raised to believe.

Some people lack intra-personal skills and find it hard to think about people outside of themselves. ...jerks.

But you know what- I do think that times are changing and as the days go by, more and more of these discriminates just look moronic to the general population.

mostly because they won't accept the truth of the matter. They feel the need to belittle anything they don't really understand.

Because that's what they have been trained to think.
Because they refuse to let go of their bigotry and prejudice.
Because their religion "tells them so" - selectively, I might add, omitting the parts they don't feel like following.

Pick one.

Because they're only looking at the behavior, not the underlying desire.
