No. Because just about all companies are equal in this respect. Nobody sends out rejection letters these days. There are not enough trees on earth.

I work for an employment agency. It can be considered very professional, the reason this company may have sent a letter is to show acknowledgment that the application was reviewed, another reason may be to keep a paper trail of approved and denied applicants. Good luck.

No. Those letters are stupid, anyway. I wouldn't bother with them if I were a manager. Maybe an email, but not a friggin letter. It's a waste.

Most of your larger companies do this and even small companies, but to say they are not professional if they don't is not a fair statement.

Absolutely. If a company doesn't do it its a strong indicator that they don't place the value on employees that they should. Theres better places to work.
