With a smile and a no thank you. Or you can tell her you are looking for an extra-medium sweater.

Most of the store employees I've encountered are actually no help at all. Today they don't know what their store carries or doesn't. I've searched shelves in the department where I know an item should be. There's others like it, but not the one I want. Then a sales person comes along..."Can I help you?..." And if I make the mistake of mentioning what it is I'm looking for, they spend 5 minutes looking on the same shelves I've just searched. Finally, scratching their heads, I get a "Duh, gee, I dunno..." So the stock "Just looking" line is the one I always use.

I always smile and say just looking around, thank you. In a nice tone. And then they say if you need anything just let me know.

I would say, "Thanks, but I'm just looking right now, if I need any help I'll call you."
If you say this they will usually give you their name, if they don't already have a name tag, and will stop bothering you for a while.

I have anxiety so I would avoid eye contact and get the hell out of there! LOL. I don't recommend it.
A simple "No thank you" will do.
