Vodafone has the best coverage, but they are also a little more expensive - Orange come second with slightly worse coverage and a price similar to Vodafone - Check out the coverage maps on the websites - I'm on O2, the same as you but need to stand next to the window to get a signal, while the missus on vodafone gets a signal in the cellar - we have yet to go somewhere where her signal drops out....

Well at the moment the best pay as you go sim is definately vodafone because of the following combination...
1) Get yourself and 3 other people you know have vodafone to be in vodafone family and pay £5 a month to talk to each other for free. Or 5 people and yourself for £7 a month.
2) Spend £5 between Mon-Fri 7.30pm to get unlimited txt and calls all weekend.
3) Put Stop The Clock on and talk for 60 minutes and pay for 3 minutes.
I am saying this even though i am on 3.

I was on Vodafone for many years and very happy with their service.
Now I am on O2 with my business phone and also very happy.
Would not recommend any others though from friends who have contracts.
