The original quote, translated from the Latin is "I think, therefore I am." As in, "Cogito, ergo sum." It was originally attributed to the philosopher Rene Descartes, inventor of the x-y aixs Cartesian grid in mathematics, among other things.
Personally these days I'm more inclined to be less noble about it though....as in:
--"I think, therefore life stinks," or
--"I think, therefore people hate me," which could apply to any number of things like a) my apparently "bad" habit of thinking in sentences and/or paragraphs (and not SMS) or b) my habit of assuming that the *science* that makes electricity, automobiles and the *internet* possible is also correct on the issue of Natural Selection.
Seriously....if you really are an evangelical and not a hypocrite, and you want to bash science on Evolution, walk away from it *entirely* the way the Amish do: Swear off telephones, electricity, computers, the whole works, and leave us civilized "sinners" alone.
But I digress. :)
Point is, I'm not usually in as noble and forgiving a mood as Rene Descartes....and this especially holds true a) on Valentine's Day, since I have no lady love to be with, and b) on a day where I am effectively *snowbound* by 2-foot high snow drifts and a lack of safe, reliable transportation. -_-
So yeah, "I think; therefore reality hates my stinking guts" does sound accurate right about now.
