I just received my started kit. I was so hoping for the flawless smooth looking skin. But was yet again disapointed. I have medium sized pores, so I was really hoping that Bare Minerals would work. With the pictures I have seen and the information I have read I thought it would. I am not sure if I am doing something wrong or just need practice.
I used the skin prep lotion, light foundation and mineral veil. My skin is not as oily, but my pores are still visable, no smooth looking skin. Can anyone help me?
Do I need some type of primer? If so what is it called and where do I get it???

You may want to use the bisque product they sell. Depending on your skin tone you either use summer bisque or bisque multitasking powder. That might help. Also you can call customer service. I use bare minerals also and I have called customer service a bunch of times to ask questions. They are really nice. Also watch the video if you have not yet.

It sounds like you need more practice. Make sure you're not using too much of the minerals. Also try using the maximum concealer brush that came with your kit to apply the minerals in the areas that you need more coverage, then go over your face with the flawless brush to buff everything. I'm not sure if you got the kabuki or handy buki brush in your kit, if you did use that as well in the areas that you feel you need more coverage. I also have noticeable pores and these tricks help me.
Once you've applied your minerals, go over those areas you wanted more coverage on and use the concealer brush and apply the Mineral Veil. Use more of a patting motion that a brushing motion, that may also help you're pores not look as noticeable.
If you're near a boutique stop in and ask them for help. They may have some other tips or tricks that may help you achieve the look you're after.
Check out Delphi Forums, Bare Escentuals Addicts. The people on the forum are very helpful and have different ideas, tips, and tricks.
Just try to be patient, I know it's frustrating. It took me a good week before I really had the hang of how to apply the minerals and get the look I was after.
Good luck!!

I also use bare escentuals and agree with the other girl below. The bisque is great and really helps with pores. I would also be sure to allow your skin plenty of time to dry from the prep lotion. Any extra moisture will cause the minerals to clump rather than go on evenly. Also, try using a little mineral veil first, then apply the foundation and end with another layer of mineral veil. Also, keep buffing with the veil until you've achieved enough coverage. Good luck.

Im having the same problem with the same makeup! Im putting a light foundation under the bare minerals, and it looks great, but that kind of defeats the purpose,,,but it works for me,,,good luck!

I recommend that you keep doing what you are doing. For me, my pores shrank and I had less blackheads after using bare minerals for a few weeks....So stick with it, and if you still aren't seeing results, then it may not be for you...
