I am not from India, but I believe that India is a great country, with lots of potential. It has a great culture (the Vedas are ones of the more ancient books), great prospect for the future and a great wisdom. Moreover I like Bollywood's films. India has also problems, women are not treated fairly everywhere and some situations are difficult (there is still lots of poverty). But I am sure it can improve with time and I hope it will improve without loosing some very important values that India has and can teach to the west.

The times refers to the moments and news happenings over current period of time. Since the items relate with specific reference to India, it is called The Times of India - which gives a comprehensive picture of events happened/happening in India through reporting in the form of print media.

This news paper was started in this country by M/s Benett, Colmen & Co. Ltd., who came from UK in the times of British ruling in India. You know the Times means news and allied things. This paper was not only for Indian news. Papers are always meant to write local as well as global news. Just the main unit showed this paper started in India, later on may be sold to other countries too.
The company M/s Lever Limited has opened subsidiaries in more that 100 countries, in most of them included the name of the that country like M/s Hindustand Lever Ltd.

What I understand by The Times of India is that it refers to the same period of time: a fact documented by two contemporary sources. Here the two sources who are documenting a fact is the writer and the reader; and both of them are in the same period.

I hope this helps.
