Have you tried an on-line search for British Typewriters Ltd? You might also try West Bromwich itself to begin your search, try the town halls and libraries.

I remember the sort of typewriter - a big heavy monster, a full on stand-up. Accurate typing but heavy going.

confident...I bear in mind those days of employing correction ribbon and attempting so perplexing to no longer make any blunders typing out a letter or study paper on an electric powered typewriter...yet a minimum of the typewriter had some memory storage potential so as that i could save some small initiatives.

I doubt it very much. The only old typewriter brand I can think of is "imperial" millions of em sold to post office and government definitely a few of those knocking around still. They had a Key travel of almost 2" down. and a cast(iron) body. I could do about 70 wpm on one of those.

Contact the local reference library in West Bromwich and they will be able to help you. You can do this by phone, by personal call (both recommended) or via the Internet.

Good Luck.
