Even a simple, uncontested divorce can be challenging if you're not familiar with how it's done. This is especially true if there are children or property involved. Additionally, because divorce falls under each state's authority, what is true in my state is not necessarily true in yours. So filing requirments may be different. Sometimes you can find sample forms on your District Clerk's website. However, I would strongly suggest that you use an attorney who is familiar with the stautes of your state to get this done for you.
Best of luck!

Online in the state that you live in
go to (your county)courthouse.com and they will have a link to down load the papers. I did it myself and it was as easy as pie. there are different packets for divorce w/kids then without. Super easy to follow and figure out the details. If you need legal advice then you can look up law references on your computer. telelaw is one that we have. You can also call the court house and they can give you the papers for a fee like $ 14 or so I would make a copy of them and go throught them once and when you get it right go and input the details in the original. You cannot white out or it looks fraudulant. Try that. Good luck

Most courthouses have the forms available. However, if you have any of the following, I would highly recommend you seek legal counsel:
Long term marriage
children
real property
personal property
401(k) plans
joint bank accounts
spouse does not work
These are the issues that come up most often and make the divorce complicated. If you don't have any of those things above, then you should be able to fill out the forms, pay the fees, and wait the time limit to get divorced.
Best of luck to you.

Try going to Barnes and Noble and getting a book for divorce. You can always represent yourself and save yourself a good amount of money. There are lots of books out there that have all the current forms inside the book or CD. The books will guide you through your process. Good luck! Through this time make sure to not fight with your wife. You want to keep everything amicable...

Office Depot and Office Max have the books and kits. But they are difficult. Your best bet is going to be to get a lawyer to draw up the papers.

I would start by calling the court clerk's office. They will have all of the forms and procedures for you, or will know which office to point you to.

You can go to the self-help section of the bookstore, they should have the information you need. Otherwise, get a lawyer.
