Does anyone actually believe in the end of the world?

Just for shits and giggles. Not talking about the so-called "rapture" or anything, just the fabled 2012 belief.

I believe that there will eventually be an end to this world. The world had ended a few times. The Ice Age is an example.

Well, in principle eventually this world will (with high probability) be no more. I mean, it could either cool down, stop spinning, and break apart. Or it could get hit by a giant comet/asteroid and break apart. Or it could get perturbed in its orbit and spiral down into the sun. Or we could find a way to generate a quantum singularity (black hole) and crush the whole thing down into a single point in space. Or another infinite set of variations that would lead to there being no recognizable earth. But I don't see any reason why it would happen at an arbitrary date. And hell, with all our knowledge we can barely predict the weather 3 days in advance- you think people who didn't have running water could predict it the destruction of earth to the hour?

I have a better prediction- as time goes to infinity, I predict the heat death of the universe. The UNIVERSE. That's way more important than just the world. Not only that, but the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics backs me up. The LAW of Thermodynamics. To not obey this is illegal.

i don't believe in the 2012 story. but i do believe the world will end one day but we just don't know when.

This globe we are on is constantly changing and will eventually have to be healed. I think the 'world' will remain as will some survivors.
