I'd go out with you if I lived in london. Take a friend; a female one if you can - take your mother, your sister, anyone you like. Go have your meal.
It does make me wonder, however, what else is going on there between you that she went ahead and made her own arrangements. Are you the kind of guy who normally does not "do" Valentine's Day? Maybe she had no reason to expect a nice evening? Maybe she doesn't want your company for some reason?? Is everything ok between you?
Just wondering. I'm not going out tonight. My other half didn't book anywhere. But he DID get me flowers!!

She is choosing her friends over you, her husband, on what is supposed to be the most romantic day of the year? Ok, either she doesn't think you are capable of remember this day, even though its all over the place, or she doesn't want you to celebrate it with her. What can her friends do on this day? I am sure they are single, so is she going out to pretend to be single?
I think she might have another man, and is wanting to celebrate it with you. I would follow her, and see if she does go with friends, or if its another guy.
Then, based on your findings, go to the restaurant, get a menu, then get flowers and other romantic stuff and set the table at home with all this stuff on it, including the menu, then make her feel really guilty for not spending it with you. Also, if its late when she gets home, leave that stuff on the table and go to bed, and just let the guilt get the best of her.
If she is cheating on you, take a camera, take pictures of her with him, then get that film developed, and put those pictures on the table, then go upstairs pack her bags, and set them on the flor near the table with a little note from you to her, saying whatever you want. Just don't be nice about it.

Isn't the question you should be asking yourself "why is my wife not spending valentines with me?" because i would be if i was you. And no you dont go to a restraunt for a valentines dinner on your own cancel and order yourself a takeaway or cook something.

Go and have dinner. I have 4 Girlfriends. I had coffee with one this morning, then breakfast with another and now i'm getting ready to head out to go have lunch with yet another. I was going to have dinner with the 4th one this evening but she's having a get together with a girlfriend who is in town for the day. So i guess i'll just go gambling this evening by myself and check out the ladies at the casino's. LOL.

I think I'd follow my wife to see what she and her friends are doing. Then I'd go and eat a good meal at the booked table.
Next I'd go home and be waiting for her to arrive. Finally, we would have a long, long talk about our relationship.

Go eat the meal, then go out get drunk, and spend a lot of money on yourself. Let her go out with her friends. Then, next time she nags about you not being romantic, ignore her, or throw this in her face.
Hell, go find someone else to go to dinner with you.

I would still see if she wants to go to dinner. Tell her that it would mean the world to you if she went. She can hang out with her friends any other night. Valentine's day is all about the one that you love!
Good luck!

I think you have bigger problems than where to go for dinner.
Cancel the table - that was meant for you and your wife. If you want to go out, go somewhere else.
But if she is going out with her "friends" on Valentine's Day rather than to dinner with her husband - there is something there that REALLY needs tobe talked about.
