I have a plain black spaghetti strap dress thats kinda that slinky material.. It falls just above my knee in the front and drops in the bad to just below my knees.

It has a silver and red broach on the left side where the strap connects with the dress.

Is there anything i can do to make it look like im not going to a funeral or should i just leave it how it is?

I can take the broach off too if i want, if it doesnt go with any of your suggestions.

I have brown hair and pale skin and green eyes if that will help you with anything

thanks =)

Wear silver heels, silver purse and silver wrap....that's all the sprucing up you should need but for yourself...Have your hairstylist do a wonderful new do to your hair! Makeup is essential and accessorize!

Dont try and spruce up the dress, spruce up yourself! You don't want people looking at your dress, you want them looking at YOU! Have a fab hairstyle, acessorize (since your dress is black you can try to bring out your eye color with emerald gems), and a pair of AMAZING shoes would top it all off! Have fun!

since it's semi-formal, you could have sort of a messy, casual updo and put a tiny tiara or some sparkly clips in your hair

have fun with makeup, and wear really interesting accessories

you should wear like silver earrings and like a shoe that is not a dark color and something over the dress that once again isn't a dark color.
