Change the water daily & add 1 teaspoon of sugar & they will last a lot longer. If the bottom of the stalks discolour cut them at a slight angle & remove early wilting flowers.

He must really think a lot of you so make sure you treat him properly & don't ever nag him.

If you have a problem with him talk naturally in Endlish so that he understands,( no inuendos)

Have a good life

As you can see Lemonade seems to be the popular answer I personally I use this method. However, when I receive flowers I always take one or two flowers from the bunch when they just go into flower. I then place them between the pages of a book and put the book under the cushion of a chair and press them for a period of around a month. When I go back to the book I carefully put the flower into a glass picture frame and mark the back of the frame who the flower was from. I now have lots of pictures in my home and they are always being admired by visitors and at the same time keep my memories alive. Infact I have some which are at least ten years old if not more and they are just as good as when I framed them.

The best way to prolong the life of cut flowers, is to trim the ends of the stem and change the water on a daily basis. When bacteria builds up in the standing water, the flowers will die quicker.

The last bouquet of roses I received lasted almost three weeks.

All the tips above touch on measures to take. At a flower arranging course the tutor advised us on the following:

1. Cut stems at a slant or crush them - allows for bigger surface area which can take up water. Crushing particularly good for woody stems like roses.

2. Use flower food if available. It prevents the build up of bacteria. Alternatively, a splash of bleach and teaspoon of sugar will feed the flowers and prevent bacteria.

3. Keep cool and out of direct sunlight.

4. Replace water regularly.

5. If roses are drooping, freshly cut stems and plunge bottom of stems (around 2 inches) into very hot (just off boiling) water for 10 minutes before arranging.

These tips have all worked for me. I regularly buy those flowers that Tesco reduce to around 50p a bunch and after following these steps they usually last around at least a week!

Enjoy your roses!!

I usually add sugar to the water, as it adds more nutrients to it, and it helps flowers last longer. And don't forget to change the sugary water once in a while, to keep the nutrients fresh.
It may sound strange, but every time I was given flowers, or when I give flowers to someone special (like my mother), I realize that the flowers last longer. A friend of mine told me, that when you give a bouquet with a lot of love the flowers last longer, as a symbol of the givers love. So I think those flowers will last for weeks, as a symbol of your bf's love.

some people say asprine

some people say 7up

I have tried both

The thing that works better is bleach..yep bleach, put a few drops of bleach in the water and make sure there are NO leaves , the flowers die from the bacteria in the water.

Clean the water daily! They will last for up to 2 weeks!

Cut the flower stem on an angle about an inc form the base then change the water every few days. Take all the leaves that are submurged inthe water as these make the water dirty. Use the food that should have been provided the first time then use half a lemon juice sqweezed into the bottom.... try to recut them as often as you can taking about 2 mm off each time ..

All my flowers last for a minimum of 3 weeks. I put them in a big sink of cold water when I get them home. Cut the stems at a slant under water and leave them for an hour so no air gets in. This allows them to continue soaking up water. I then quickly pop them into the vase with the flower food.

Honestly at least 3 weeks everytime.

the first thing you need to do is cut the stem of the roses at a angle then place them in water. You can also add a asprin, copper penny, seven - up to the water and this will make your flower last longer.

All the answers about adding sugar aspirin bleach etc so far are good, as well as the advice on a little extra snip at a slant. What really will help on top of these things is to keep your roses in a cool place when you are out of the house or asleep - that will extend their life by a few extra days without questions.
