From age 18 to 20, I lusted after this girl I barely knew. I finally got up the nerve to ask her out, she shocked me by saying yes.

But then we went out and I couldn't stand her! She was so irritating. It shattered my fantasy image of her.

Oh well. A year later I met my wife anyways.....

I pursued my wife for two years before she would even date me and then we got married three months later. You have to know the difference between the pursuit for happiness and stalking! I pursued lightly I let her know I was interested put never with any force.I try'ed to be at partys she was at and at church meetings. In a way I knew I wasn't her type but I grew on her and she saw who I am and started asking other people about me.We found we had common friends and she asked them about me and I asked them about her. I gave her a small gift but again I backed off.At some partys or at church I didn't even talk to her ,sort of played hard to get kind of thing.
You need to keep in mind that she my never come around to you and thats your question"how long do you persue".I did my best with her.I guess one could say I keeped one eye on her and one eye open in case another came around. Some times another comes around before the one you are pursuing does. But if you pass on a good one for a hope full you might miss out a happy life.My mom always told me "It's better to have a bird in your hand (a sure thing) than to have two birds in a bush (a hope full thing).I hope I helped some. Hell what do I know about women,I'm a guy !!
