For example my horses have 2 waters and drink out of the right one; our dogs fight over the bed located on the right; our cats both try & eat out of the right bowl before considering the left. Is there some reason for this?

i don't know if this helps or not but i rescued some American Eskimo dogs a little while ago, they had been kennel dogs with little human contact for their entire lives so they all have what i call kennel craze, which is where they constantly spin in tight fast circles when bored, excited or nervous they do this non stop for hours, some circle to the left some to the right,i figure they are just like humans some of us are left handed some are right,i came to this conclusion by observing their behavior, the ones that go to the right seem to favor doing right handed activities, such as sleeping to the right of the blanket, going to the right of the food dish,or using the right of our fenced yard to do their business, the left circlers do the exact opposite

Evidently the right side of most animals brains have a dominant right side. I have not heard of many pets being called lefty or southpaw lol--just kidding but have a happy valentine's day, anyway

prob that animals have a predesigned tendancy for that side, just as most humans are right handed. ? that's my guess.
