Talk to them politely that you are not able to digest what they are doing. If that person is rude or cant stand any suggestions, dont waste your thoughts on that. Instead resolve you wont do that when positions are reversed and your children or younger ones look up to you for a role model.

Making mistake is not the property of younger folks! Everyone makes mistakes, some more than the other. Unless the mistake made by the other person bothers you, you should be open and honest with the person and communicate your opinion in a non confrontational way. Try it, it may work!

I suggest not to talk about their wrong doing's if they are not too close to you.. If you know them really well, & they respect your thoughts. Then you may talk to them about the thing they are doing wrong..
If they are not really that close to you... Then don't care about them.. as they will not be ready to listen to your advice & would never take you seriously or they may even insult you...
Or other way around is you try explaining this to other elderly person whom you talk to well.. may be he will help you out in explaining the other elder person that he is doing wrong...

You can tell them what you think, however, you probably won't change their behavior.
Also, don't follow them. If they smoke, don't smoke, or when they do, leave the room. Eventually, they will get the hint. Basically, whatever they are doing wrong, seperate yourself from them when they are doing it. If its something you can't walk away from, at least confront them on it, and let them know you don't like it.

Firstly who are you to judge.
But if you in your heart believe he is doing something wrong, without naming the person, discuss with your parents and ask them what to do. They would give you the best instructions.

first of all in your frame of mind if that is wrong it is not always true that it is wrong as an elderly person is doing this act. now when you are sure that it is wrong what i feel is there no harm in telling that person that you are doing wrong once if still you think that same is repeted please resist to your maximum.
