First, you should try to recognize what triggered this attack. Sometimes it could be something someone said, it could be a smell, or a taste, or a visual of something you see.
So if someone used a particular word that reminds you of a bad time in life, you will use that as a reference point with the original feelings.
By recognizing these triggers, it will often help you deal with those feelings and put them in proper perspective of what was of the past and what is current. Then you can hold on to the reality of now and recognize the differences and have a more sense of security.
You could even smell a particular smell, like a particular cologne that smells great, but if someone who was negative in your past continuously wore that smell, then you would be reminded of all that and respond to it as a negative.
Just stop, and immediately re-cap what was just said, where you are, the other senses and ask if any of this is similar to anything in your past or other part of your life. You will then get to know more of yourself and what effects you. Once you recognize them, explore them and have perspective of the difference between then and now, they will start to subside and be placed accordingly in your memory. It does take effort, but it is a lot easier than dealing with the unknown of panic attacks and unresolved issues.

Consciously say "STOP" to yourself, and make yourslef aware of the good things that could happen/have happened/listen to some uplifting music.
Anything but sit and basically wallow in stuff that has already been done, and really can't be undone.
Good luck, and if that does not work - go and chat with yor doctor, he/she may have some councelling ideas?

Talk them through with someone you trust, or someone who has been there. I got tired of the psychiatrists telling me things because they would not know what a panic attack felt like if it bit them on the ***. Sometimes, we all need a trusting shoulder to pour out our hearts, you are in dire need of that right now. You don't need a psychiatrist, nor do you need happy pills. You need someone who understands you and will listen

Friend ...I can really help u here. First you have to accept the reason for all the problems..It is called Karmic cycle, which is universal law of nature. You know Newton's law 'Every action has equal and pposite reaction'..similar is this law...whatever we do, will be returned to us, someday..May be in this birth, maybe next. So whatever happenning is not out of blue...there is logic for it.
Now once u accept the truth, lets find way out of it..Sit calmly, whichever face comes to ur face first..concentrate on it..connect to him..see God in him...Give UNCONDITIONAL LOVE to him/her. Ask for forgiveness to him..once he says ok...u will feel the calmess...u will enjoy it. Keep on doing it for all family members, friends, enemies, pets, animals, worms....
I am sure u will feel better in first 10 minute only...It is tried and tested method...
God bless YOU.
if u want to know more I am always to help u.
