According to the retirement company, the county I work for is responsible for determining the dollar amount for the sick time. After doing some of my own calculations, I figured the county short changed my nearly $3000. The county said that it is the retirement company that determines the dollar amount but I think I am being ripped off here. Anyone else have this problem or know for a fact who is responsible for determining the dollar amount for sick leave conversion and how they go about detemining the value of the sick time? Are taxes being taken out or what? I could not get a straight answer from the county representative. If taxes or other deductions were taken out, why did I not receive a statement of some kind?

Sounds to me like you are being ripped off. Maybe you should consult an attorney.
