If youre comfortable enough around him i would suggest saying something. You need to ask yourself tho if its him that you really love or if its the thought of having that special someone around. I had those two confused for a very long time, but its just a thought. Wait for v-day to die down a little bit, think over how youre going to say things and then approach him. See what happens

take a look at how serious his relationship is with the other person. if its not too serious, i would say, tell him how you feel. if you dont, you might regret it later if you find he's still loved you and he thought you were gone forever and he marries someone else. just tell him you want to be friends no matter what. and if he doesnt feel the same way as you, its time to move on even tho it will be hard. there's not point in obbsessing over someone who doesn't feel the same way. life is short and you need to find that special someone who will obsess over yo like you are the most important thing in his life.
good luck! i hope everything works out for you! ^_^

If you know he is very happy in his relationship then leave it, if you are unsure then tell him. If you have been friends for so long he may be able to tell anyway. Even though it could ruin your friendship you may feel better that you can have it out in the open and if he stays with his girlfriend at least you can move on with your life. If he stays with his girlfriend then its for the best.

I think the question should be do you want to love him? Or get over him? If you want to be with him then do something about it, and if not then find someone else that will make you happy!

You had better say something. He might feel the same but has questioned your interest, hence the "relationship" you mentioned. Listen to your heart and have the courage to follow it.

Has he given you any signs he might be interested? If I were you, I'd flirt a little with him to test the waters. If he seems interested, I'd disuss it with him. That is, assuming this other relationship he is in is not marriage :)
