"High season" is essentially November thru the end of March. The busiest time is Christmas thru New Years. But there are mini seasons too: Spring break in March-April. June - August get lots of Europeans & lots of Caribbean & latin visitors. Super-Bowl week was insane. "Presidents day" (this weekend) gets the Miami Boat show and the Coconut Grove art Festival all at once. Then there's "urban music weekend," Art Basle, Miami, "Calle Ocho" & god knows what else to interrupt the smooth flow of life.

Spring break in mid-march is incredibly busy. It also gets busy around New Year's Eve. Generally, the winter months are the high season, about November to March/April. By the end of May, it gets incredibly hot down there. And in the summer months it is super hot, so people don't travel down there as much. By late September, the weather gets really nice again.
