History plays a huge part as it contributes to society's culture, thier ethnic background, geographical location, the demographic change in population, culture and practices, the development as a country which is on a larger scale, thier religion, the society's norms, morals and values, opportunities available and thier economical state which can indirectly contribute to crime are some.....which i can remeber

I think geological placement also plays a big role in determining a peoples myths, legends and beliefs; the difference between the fishing , farming, nomadic etc cultures
