In the Pittsburgh Post Gazette, Ben Roethlisberger was on record saying he was hoping to have Lane Kiffin as his next Head Coach as he was enamored with the skills and expertise he provided for Matt Leinart during his senior year.. Roethlisberger even gave Owner, Dan Rooney, permission to seek out Lane Kiffin as the next Head Coach of the Steelers.. When will the Steelers hire him???

Dan Rooney will keep Tomlin in Pittsburgh as long as Tomlin wants. The Rooneys are good at seeking out managment type people and stick with them. Lane Kiffin as the Steelers coach? That's lame, even for you.

This is a really dumb question....here's why:
1. Roethlisberger gave the Owner "permission" to seek out a head coach???? Last I checked QB's had nothing to do with staffing.
2. What would Big Ben know about what some coach did for Matt Leinhart? Did I miss something are Roethlisberger and Leinart friends? Did they go to the same school?
3. Look at the Steelers coaching history- 2 coaches in the past how many years? 30? 35? It is absurd to think that the Rooney's would ever be that fickle. (As a side note to the fan worried about a rookie head coach -- I am almost positive that Bill the Great was a rookie head coach)
4. I just went to the Pittsburgh Post Gazette site and searched the name Lane Kiffin and did not see your source for this information, what's up with that?
So to answer the question NOT GONNA HAPPEN!!!

Tomlin will last at least 5-6 seasons. He may not be the best coach in the world, but he is a good coach. You may think he sucks, but this is exactly what people were saying 15 years ago when Bill Cowher was hired, and now he's a Hall of Fame shoo-in. Also, Kiffin has been hired by the Raiders.as their Head Coach, so the Steelers can't hire him, unless they fire him. The only reason Ben would want Kiffin as the Steelers coach would be because he's an offensive coordinator, and he does not have the same Head coach, Off. Coordinator, or QB Coach from last year.

You're kidding, right? Lane Kiffin has no experience as an NFL coach. And he's too young. Tomlin will do just fine. He has inherited a Super Bowl caliber team. He knows how the NFL works. He's a ex-defensive backs, and defensive coordinator, and the Steelers are defensive minded anyway. I couldn't see Lane Kiffin coaching the Steelers. He looks like a little momma's boy. Al Davis is gonna ruin him and he'll go running back to the college ranks with his tail between his legs.

i love the steelers and i hate having a coach being head coach for the first time in his life. the guy was a D Corrdinater for 2 years. and a DB coach for his whole career.
i want lane Kiffin at least he has some kind of experiance

Who really gives a **** what Roethlisberger wants. Really he is a mediocre QB who had a lot of support. He is an idiot for riding his motorcycle without a helmet and because of that, the Steelers suffered last season. Tomlin is a excellent head coach, and I gurantee you under him, the Steelers will be back in the playoffs next year.

i read that article and to be honest i think tomlin will last for this season then hes going to be fired. as for Lane Kiffin, he is going to be in consideration with Cowher because i have a hunch that Cowher will be back for the 08-09 season and the steelers will rehire him

Well to answer this geared toward you, around midseason. The Raiders will trade Kifflin and Randy Moss to the Steelers for Tomlin.

Didn't read anything like that...Fanaca made a comment, but not Ben...that I can see online or in my previous Posts. I would like to know what date this was written on since I am a Big Ben fan...really, what date? .For all of you who think Murddock is an *** or not sure go to post-gazette.com and look it up for your self.
