I an famous, among my friends and family, for my unique, beautiful and original gift wrapping. I pick a different theme every year for my Christmas presents, and wrap them all the same. One year I wrapped with tin foil with the smooth shiny side showing and metallic red ribbon and bows. That was many years ago, and they still talk about it....

So I say: Go for it!

Of course it is, a few creases here and there will give it a bit of character too, the scrunched look is very in at the moment, well done I might just do that myself next time I wrap a pressie.

Tin foil makes excellent wrapping for many objects.

It's unique chemical and physical properties are very good at blocking ultra frequency signals emitted by govenment sattelites and alien spacecraft.

Not only is it good for wrapping pacages you don't want international spy satelites to see it makes good headwear to keep them from monitoring your brain activity.

It's excellent as wallpaper as well, my one room apartment is now a sanctuary where their electro terrorism is voided.

Since I've never been abducted or anally probed I know that this information is accurate.

I don't see why not. You could even decorate it up some. I have another one for you that my friend tried. Take two pieces of wax paper, the same size and put stickers, ribbons, dried flowers, pieces of ribbon, etc. in between them. Put a thin cloth on top and iron it. It actuallly turned out quite nice as wrapping paper.

Yes, I have done it too. For a different look you can crinkle the foil (like wad it up and pull it back apart). Or make the package smooth with a crinkle bow.

if some one gave me a gift wrapped in tinfoil I think I'd rais my eyebrow, say, "tin foil?" decide it was kindof cooky and unique, and the appreciate the gift and the gift-giver just as much as I would have otherwise. I say "Why not?"

Think about the opinion of the person that will get the gift. I'm sure you want to make s/he happy, don´t you?
Put a lot of love together and everything will look great...

Yes it is because it's the thought that counts. At least you got that person a gift. One Christmas I wrapped everyone's gift with newspaper from the comic strips and they enjoyed it.

It really depends on what it is.

If you must do it, try to decorate it a little.
Straight up tin foil is a bit harsh on the eyes.
