I need to copy text from 'pdfs' a lot at my work.... I would gain a lot of time if only I was able to select text from them and paste them in other types of documents (=> Word, SwishMax....)
Any help apriciated, if other software is needed please let me know.... (to edit pdfs for example)
I use (at my work) Adobe Acrobat Proffessional 7 and have the Adobe CS2 package...

Sorry if you feel hurt Colin M, but I was hopping to get more technical answers not just some of you telling me to copy / paste, witch obviously I can do and does not work.... I will try to get that conversion programme that Alan talked about and see if it works....

You can select text using adobe reader, and then copy and paste it. but you will loose certain formatting.
there is an application called pdf convertor 4, which is a darn site cheaper than adobe pro - this allows you to convert pdf's to word/excel formats and retains more of the formatting.
there maybe some free applications that can do this, but i am yet to find free windows based apps.
hope this helps

Word is a syntax based software. So if you copy and content from the websites, it retains the hyperlinks to those pages. If you noticed that in the formating combo box (which appears in the toolbar) it shows as hypertext. In such a case select the entire text ands convert it vto normal. This will reset the entire text into just text. The hyperlinks will just disappear from the page. Another way of doing it to place the text into some text editing software like notepad and then copy and paste the same content in the word dpcument. But incase you do that you will loose the images associated with the page, incase you require them.

Well in the Adobe Reader free edition, there is an option in the toolbar for SELECT TEXT, so it must be present in the Professional edition. But that is only for selecting text.
If you basically want to use the whole PDF, you may want to consider searching software that converts PDF to word, although the convertion may not be perfect.

There's a "select" tool at the top next to the "Hand" tool (looks like an I-beam). With that selected, you can do the usual highlight, edit, copy/cut.
PS>>>> Helen & I have told you how to do what you asked - if you don't like it, don't bother asking. Or phrase your question properly. There's no need to rant, people are trying to help you.
