yes because 4 goes into 8 and because 4 is a square root you can go sqrt(4*2) and turn that into 2sqrt2
i think im really bad in math

Or you could look at it like this
16
^
4*2
^
2*2
You have two pairs of 2's so that pair goes outside the radical, and the left over 2 goes on the inside 2sqrt2
hope it makes since once you keep doing them they get easier :)

Oh and by the way you should post math questions in the Science and Math section because you get better answers.

Since x^16 squared is x^32, that would be a more correct answer.

X^8 is one of the two square roots of x^16.
The other root is -x^8.

nope sorry bc if sq.rt. x^16= x^ 8

then
x^16=
(x^8)^2
=(x^8)(x^8)=x^16, so youre really just going in a loop, and not making it any easier to solve

its easier to look at smaller numbers, bc patterns are consistent:

say x=2 and we're doing x^4

2^4=16
sq.rt. 16=4=2^2

so what youre trying to do is like this:

2^4=(2^2)^2=(2^2)(2^2)=2^4

understand now? lemme know if you need more help! :{o

by simplifying it like you are proposing to do, you are just adding more steps to find the same answer

hope i could be of help!
