The name BOLLYWOOD is a spoonerism of HOLLYWOOD, as a reference to the American film industry, and the city BOBMAY (now called Mumbai). Due to large number of studios in and around Bombay, and the booming film industry, Bombay became the main Indian production center for movies.
So, BOmbay+hoLLYWOOD = BOLLYWOOD

I do believe you are referring to "Bollywood" (Hindi: बà¥à¤²à¥à¤µà¥à¤¡, Urdu: باÙÛÙÚ) which is the informal name given to the popular Mumbai-based Hindi language film industry in India. The term is sometimes used incorrectly to refer to the whole of Indian cinema.
