I went to Morocco before & I loved it.
In fact, I went to Casablanca & Marrakech.
Both cities are really worth it.

Nevertheless, a while ago, I was reading some comments about Morocco. They said that their experience there was bad. According to them, people will do anything to take your money.
My experience was good there. I travelled many times to different places. I avoid walking around with cash in my purse. I always carry my cash in my pockets and I put on simple cloths.

I have some tips here for you:
“”Highlights Of Morocco
Exploring the Imperial Cities, souks, mountains and deserts of romantic Morocco
For sheer diversity Morocco is a perfect destination, so close to Europe, yet so completely different. We explore the Imperial Cities of Marrakech, Meknes and Fez, with crowded bazaars conjuring up flavours of Arabian Nights. Our journey takes us through contrasting mountain ranges to the south, where sand dunes and kasbahs are scattered among palm oases inhabited by friendly Berbers. The highlight of our trip is a genuine Saharan experience, an overnight camel trek at the sand sea of Merzouga. There is also time to explore Todra Gorge, the High Atlas on foot, and the beautiful coastal fishing town of Essaouira.
Itinerary:
Day 1 Start Casablanca. 1-2 Visit Hassan II Mosque; to Rabat, visit old quarter; to Meknes. 1-3 Explore Meknes and well-preserved Roman site of Volubulis; to Fez. 1-4 Guided tour of Fez, one of the world’s finest Islamic cities. 1-5 To Merzouga. 1-6 Time to walk in the sand dunes; afternoon camel safari & night in the desert. 1-7 To Todra Gorge. 1-8 Morning walk; afternoon palmery tour/explanation of irrigation system. 1-9 Drive along the 'route of the thousand kasbahs' to Telouet, via the famous kasbah of Ait Benhaddou. 1-10 Morning walk in High Atlas Mountains; free time in the afternoon to relax. 1-11 Over High Atlas range to Essaouira. 1-12 Free day in Essaouira to explore old town and beach. 1-13 To Marrakech, the 'Pink City'; guided tour. 1-14 Free day in Marrakech to enjoy the souks, gardens and vibrant Djemaa el Fna - the great outdoor market. 1-15 End Marrakech.””

Therefore, I would say that you should visit this country and enjoy it.

Just be careful.
Have fun

Morocco is an amazing vacation destination!!!
Wherever you decide to go in Morocco you will have a great time, each city is different from the last. The food is great, the locals are friendly and kind, of course there are beggars but be polite and you will have no problems.
Safety is not an issue, just use common sense as you would visiting any foreign country, especially a busy city.

Marrakech is my favourite, also, if you go there, ask about Oukaimeden (just outside Marrakech heading into the mountains). Tangier and Rabat are also nice and I intend to go to Fez on my next visit. Agadir is nice, although I felt it was more European than typical Moroccan.

My only advise would be - plan your trip well, it's a big country and there's lots to see. I've spent a total of 8weeks in Morocco and have still only seen a small amount!
The weather varies from north to south and the coast to inland, check before you go! My first trip was in April and whilst Marrakech was very very hot, Agadir was much cooler and chilly at night, I hadnt expected this.
When buying, haggle! You can get at least 50% off the original price.

Hope this helps, stop being curious and get out there you'll have a great time!

I strongly recommend Morocco for a visit - it’s such a beautiful country, I really do love it!! People are very, very nice and helpful wherever you go. I have very good friends in Morocco. Well, I’m working a lot with Morocco and I have the luck that I can go many times a year there.
I love being in Agadir, although it’s very touristy and not very typical. But it’s a beautiful sea resort and you can relax there, go to the fantastic large sandy beach and have a real good time. It’s a very modern city and people just behave like in Europe. There is one of the best discotheques I’ve ever gone to in Agadir, it’s called the "So" and it’s placed in the Sofitel Hotel. Go there, you will have a splendid night out there - I promise you!!!
Well, there is also Marrakech of course; I am in love with that city. There is everything: The most traditional things, palaces and old Kasbahs mix up with the most modern life style and buildings... it’s a fantastic melting pot, when you visit the old harem and the old university you believe that you are in middle of 1001 nights... and the market... oh my god, it’s so full of life there, you can buy everything, taste the best spices, eat the best food, try the fantastic and delicious cakes and sweets... you should hire a horse with a carriage and go around the city, it’s a fantastic experience.
Then... go and visit the Atlas mountain, go to the little Sahara and have walk in camel there, visit the fantastic Oasis and have a donkey ride there... go and visit Massa, see the old Kasbahs and the small Berber villages... take a walk own in a jeep at the beach side and see the fishing villages, and most of all: Talk with the people, they are so friendly and will be happy for your interest...
go to visit Fez, which is the most intellectual city in Morocco, visit the palaces there, the university...
Go to see Casablanca, it’s so beautiful!!
There are so many things to do in Morocco, you won’t get bored, just relax and have a good time... 1 week is few time to visit this wonderful country, try to go 14 days there!!

I recently moved to Morocco and live near Rabat, the capital. There are nice things to see there, and lots of places to shop.

Safety is not really an issue if you use common sense. Don't make money, cameras, etc too accessible to others. Don't go to places you are unsure of.

The food is good, but I recommend eating in a café or restaurant. If you are not from here the food from street vendors may upset your stomach. Bring anti-diarrhea medication just in case. The water is safe here and I had no problems when I arrived. You will want to have small packages of tissue with you and waterless hand sanitizer. Most bathrooms here do not provide paper and sometimes do not offer soap. The toilets here are also different, often a hold in the floor and you squat. Many toilets in public areas require a small fee to be used. Be prepared, they are often not nice.

I haven't been to many places here yet, but I go to Rabat almost every day and it is very nice. I have been to Casablanca once and there are many things to do there, and it is very beautiful. I have not been to Fes or Marrakesh but they are HUGE tourist areas with lots of fun things to do and see.

Hope this helps!

I was there about 15 years ago with two males. One spoke some Arabic and French. Marrakesh, Casa Blanca, Rabat and the coast are all worth seeing. Americans are not liked in that part of the world. If you buy anything, negotiation is customary. Don't take anything valuable with you and travel with someone if at all possible. I ate a lot of eggs because I don't eat organs and other things they prefer. Cats run free in restaurants, dogs are ill treated. Hot mint tea is the traditional drink.

Go to the capital!!! (I hope i don't have to write what is it!) Morocco is terrific! I loved it, it's a very strange, Arab-French culture, and I found it very interesting. About all of the issues you've mentioned, there are no special things to mention - just go to Casablanca and you'll see - it's a whole new world!

Heck to the YES. I love Canada. And I live in Oregon, so it's not that far away at all. The only bad experience I ever had in Canada was when I went to the mall. On BOXING DAY. It was insane. But that was my own fault. I should have done my research.
