I brought an ex demonstration moped in the uk it says it has a 56plate but I have no idea what this means can anyone help me out.

It means it was first registered in England, Scotland or Wales between 1st September 2006 and 28th February 2007, inclusive.

As with cars 56 registration refers to late 2006, early 2007

Its a late 2006 plate, early in 2006 it is a 06 plate, later in the year it is a 56 plate, don't know why.

It means the bike is a 2006, september I think.

It means it is a 2006 plate, made last year.

the registration number plate was from sept 06' meaning the number on the number plate is 56
