Depends on the kind of party....and if you are male or female? I always use a party as a chance to get a bit more dressed up. But maybe thats a woman thing. Guys tend to wear a decent pair of jeans and a nice T shirt or shirt.

jeans and a t-shirt unless it's an engagement party, then wear a nice shirt and slacks. if it's a tupperware party, you can wear what you want.
