While I'm also very skeptical about the premise that man may be contributing to global warming, it needs to be noted that the weather pattern caused by the phenomenon will be more "continental." A continental climate is one where the seasonal and daily differences are more extreme - thus summers are hotter and winters are colder. This is because of the absence of the temperature stabilizing force of the ocean.
Anybody out there who is old enough may remember the global cooling scare of the mid-1970's. Only time will tell, but in the meantime it can't hurt to minimize energy use, if for no other reason than to save money & resources.

LOL....ya...it's a balmy 10 below, big winds and 10 inches of what? sunshine? This feels more like the next ice age they warned us about in the 60's and 70's. Just goes to show you that banning aerosol spay and all the improvements to cars and lord knows what else we did to save our planet has just flipped us in to "warming" in a few decades. LOL. How about a possible NORMAL global phase? We haven't grossly broken any records. I'm sure living has had some impact. I know the wall to wall concrete jungle hasn't improved quality of life here....but I also know people have kind of lost track of what NORMAL is, as well as allowing for NORMAL fluctuations. Now I could be wrong....but I'd probably guess there's going to be some spring flooding this year and I don't think it's a result of the ice caps....unless you consider upstate New York the new ice cap. Common sense tells me with the massive snow fall, the risk of spring flooding is going to increase. Call me psychic. LOL
I agree changes are happening but who's to say they aren't normal climate changes? I mean they had us a panic back then about the comming ice ice. I even went so far as to move to Florida thinking it would be on the edge of where people had the chance of surviving it. LOL After years of sweltering to death....I moved back.
I think they love to create a NEW catastrophy in order to have some new government funded study in order to fix something that isn't even wrong.
I have a feeling if this is real.....the damage is too far gone to do anything about now. Like stopping an avalanche mid cycle.
But hey ....I'm game for a BBQ. Put on the ole swim-suit, drag out the BBQ and a good lawn chair and fire that baby up......LOL (Under the parka, long unders and boots that is)

Our weather here is so messed up. yesterday morning it was 60 degrees when I was going to work. By the end of the day it was about 35. This morning it was snowing a little but it has stopped now. This is very common for our weather here in Memphis to change that rapidly. Everyone say's that it is because of the Miss. river that makes us have crazy weather but who knows

yeah.. global warming theories are soooo cool!
Cant wait for the global alerts on all the other dangers... emergency call for world rescue teams:
-volcano gasses must be capped to prevent unauthorized emissions of carbon based gasses.
-Private jet usage and luxery cruises will be outlawed as the endanger the earth
Permits (for a nominal fee) will be required to burn wood, oil, dung patties, coal, leaves, ....fire based grilled food .......etc

why can't we just let it warm up to 70 degrees then we wouldn't have to have gas for our furnaces? We could save all of our resources and lessen our dependence on foreign oil. Sitting here in Pennsylvania, ice storm and 7 inches of snow keeping me from work. Could use some global warming.

I like how the uneducated point to the fact that it snows to say look no global warming. You do know that an ice age could result from global warming thats why its better to say global climate change not global warming.

Yeah, why do the libbies always make their announcements about global warming during the middle of winter. And they wonder why we don't take it seriously.

It is so hot that we cannot go outside so no grilling.
Washington, D.C.-- One of the most decorated French geophysicists has converted from a believer in manmade catastrophic global warming to a climate skeptic.

Idiot. Global warming will change weather over the whole world. No one ever said it would eliminate all cold weather. Read a dang book, and stop voting.

Indeed. It's scorching out here.
There's been a bit of snow (and by bit I mean feet of) in Detroit, but I'm not letting that get in the way of my warm winter.
