Since the chicken little people say the world is going to end, should we all now go back to horse and buggy instead of cars/trucks?
I asked for solutions, not just that we need to decrease energy use, HOW people HOW? thats right use your brains and come up with actual solutions.

We need to outlaw all active volcanoes, the greenhouse gases emitted from 1 major eruption alone is more than humans have ever created. I hope the new congress gets right on this.

I am all for conserving energy, but I think the whole global warming issue is a political one. The research and environmentalist community did not get anywhere with global cooling in the 70's, so they found an issue that governments would fund research on. Thus giving them money.
So far I have installed in my own home:
- 96% efficient furnace
- New windows
- A set back thermostat to roll the temp back when I am not there and I am sleeping.
- Added an additional R30 insulation in the attic.
When I did my energy tax credit for all of the above, it came out to adjusting my gross income by $200. So I just laughed at this.
As for global warming solutions, mine is to let mother nature take care of herself and set realistic pollution goals so it does not kill the economy.
Al Gore is offering a $10 Million reward for someone to come up for a global warming solution though.

I used to believe the we should go back to horse and buggy but now we can still use cars/trucks WHILE maintaining the environment.
Hybrid cars. I used to think that they can be only applied to smaller ones. Now, it is in the Toyato Camry and Lexus LS 600hL. As a matter of fact, they're not only gentle but more MUSCULAR in performance. Mostly of the hybrid models have a slightly faster 0-60 time than their conventional counterparts. Diesel can be used but diesel will just run out. The idea is to use electric power FULL-TIME, and we are getting there.
GPS. Think of it, if you're trying to look for a place you're not going to as much gas because the GPS will prepare you for the directions.

it is been mentioned that the temperature on earth is getting warmer. In Al Gore’s; "Inconvenient reality," I heard that a footnote mentioned; “The solar is getting warmer” (I truthfully have not considered the documentary or study something on his findings). In DVM’s; "Inconvenient reality," I heard that the temperature on Mars is getting warmer. At this factor in time, i comprehend of no people residing on Mars. Why is the temperature on Mars getting warmer? The solar is getting warmer. How do we offer up worldwide Warming? remember; I’m no longer announcing that the solar is the only clarification for “worldwide Warming,” we've all polluted the Earth. reducing pollution and keeping skill could be a purpose of all and sundry. My answer for worldwide Warming: NASA sends a “solar shelter” with memory metallic into area. whilst deployed, the memory metallic will stretch the shelter right into a large circle or a sq.. the area return and forth’s astronauts will positioned the shelter into orbit at a region which will block a number of the solar’s rays over a niche on the sea. this would cut back the solar’s rays that hit the Earth. as a effect, reducing the floor and ocean temperatures. via cut back in ocean temperature, the style of hurricanes could cut back. confident, there are greater advantages. the dimensions, style of shields, and places would desire to be desperate. back, all of us would desire to cut back pollution and shelter on skill. DVM would, 2007 (confident, this answer is being sent to selection makers)

Q. Solution for Global warming
A. Global warming is already in the process of being solved. Big corporations are jumping on the bandwagon as we speak. Try typing 'global warming' in Yahoo!'s search box or visiting Yahoo!'s directory for global warming at: http://dir.yahoo.com/Society_and_Culture/Environment_and_Nature/Global_Change/Climate_Change/Global_Warming/ for some links to websites that are showing all the things that are being done right now.
The real question is: Is all this being done fast enough to prevent disaster?

You know...the environmentalists have it right when they say that we do need to cut the greenhouse emissions. But on the other hand I'm also a capitalist who wants to see the machines and the cars and the factories being built and producing. But for sure we need to put more effort into cleaner energy.

Turn off electronics when you are not using them, switch to compact fluorescent lights, carpool, public transit when you can. Walk, ride,a bike, Compost, recycle, turn the heat down a degree or two, likewise set the air conditioner up a degree or two. Those are just a few things that we can do in our day to day life to reduce the amount of energy we consume, they cost nothing, if anything they will result in a savings.

How funny, when cars first came out they were touted as stopping pollution from the horse and buggies. I have my heat set to 64 and I dress warmer in the house. I do a lot of measures to keep my electric bill to a minimum.

How about a cap and sell policy on carbon dioxide emissions...oh wait, reps are against that too. Well, nobody said the world was going to end, but I am glad you brought up the horse and buggy...if it easn't for the waste output of those animals and the increasing population that made it impossible to support the travel needs of humans with that technology, we were forced to come up with some alternatives, not just 'stay the course'. And as usual, the dems will have to pull the reps kicking and screaming into the future of technology.
EDIT: If you stopped giving thumbs down to actual real information, you might not have the facts shrink down and out of sight. And then you wouldn't have to ask such stupid uninformed questions.
