They get song of the year and album of the year but the song never gets higher than 35 on the charts.

Yes, I think they won in order for the music industry to send a message.

Their album hasn't been played in the US on many country stations, and mostly ignored on Pop/Rock stations.

My beef with the Dix-chicks is not so much the anti-war thing...It is when they cancelled their Toronto show during our SARS outbreak. They said they cancelled it because they were scared of all the sick and dying people in TO, and they saw 'all the people wearing face masks...'

They pretended to be so informed....they cancelled and that same weekend the Rolling Stones, Justin Timberlake, ACDC and many more did the SARS concert in Toronto, 500,000 people came out for it. Just to show the world that there was nothing to fear, and Toronto was getting the rap from the media.

In my books, the dix-chicks are diots.

I agree with that statement. You will notice they don't receive any awards at the Country Awards shows.

I live near Houston, and can't recall the last time I heard one of their songs on the radio. They get no airtime by the stations here. I know if you head up to the Austin area, you will hear them. But, Austin is a lot more liberal than this area of Texas.

But, it doesn't matter to me, as I never really was a fan of their's in the first place. Everyone here, according to the polls by the country stations, felt Carrie Underwood deserved the award. I agree with that. I am not a huge fan of her music, but I can mute the TV and watch her on it all day.

hmmm, I never thought of that! I was wondering why the heck they got so many awards & stuff. I haven't even heard one of their songs in an eternity. All their music was banned from every radio station in the Dallas/Fort Worth, TX area! I used to love them too, but after bashing the President. NO Thank you! I wouldn't listen to them ever again. I don't like violence and the war, but I still think that its doing a lot of good for a lot of people who need our help.

I do. A song that doesn't get higher than that should never have won song of the year, it's ridiculous.

Most of the best songs and albums never even reach the top 40 - they deserve it.
