On the woman's part, it is probably possible.
From the guy's point of view, we are always thinking about the possibility of sex. This thinking about sex always gets in the way of rational thought and makes it tough to "just be friends".
I guess it is possible but not easy.

Yes, it is. I have several really good male friends and my fiancee has several good female friends. So long as all parties are all on board with what is and isn't appropreate behaviour and the friendship doesn't cause a rift in the marriage it's perfectly okay.

That would depend, is this a "new" friend or an old friend? My husband would not like a "new" male friend, however, he tolerates old ones. Meaning the ones I have had for YEARS...
