i don't want anything too expensive

Spencers gifts usually has a pretty cheap set. Comes with four colors (colors don't show up very well when it glows, they all look the same). Any novelty store of the sort will have them.

Remember though, the cheaper it is the more you are going to need to activate it with light because the chemical's aren't as strong as the more expensive stuff.

I have decent success with neon paint that I bought from a hardware store. I used it to paint costumes for a blacklight play that I worked on. It looked pretty good, and they didn't cost that much, although they didn't come together in a set.
