I want to know how you possibly think Hilary duff has her makeup done in this picture. I think that she might use some creamy brown shadow above and below(which I have) but I'm not sure....here's the pic: http://i12.tinypic.com/4ftl0t0.png

after prepping your skin with concealer, foundation and setting it with loose powder, sweep a taupe eyeshadow on your whole eyelid. good trio would be Bodyshop metallic pallette in bronze, neutral and white.
after you do that sweep the bronze eyeshadow (start from the tip of your eyebrow near the browbone) toward your nose. Sweep it in one direction only. you start sweeping from outside so you maintain the fade effect.
get an angled eyeshow brush, use the same color and sweep under your eyelashes. make sure to line your lower lashes with a brown pencil both above and below. if you're scared of poking your eye just line underneath the lower lashes. to accentuate the color that u put in using the angled brush. we dont want it to look like eye baggage do we.
use the white or shimmery eyeshadow and sweep it (still from outside to inside stroke) above your brow bone below your eyebrow to emphasize the bronze color. just a lil hint ok not too much.
good luck!

You should try different shades of brown and tan. Her eyeliner and mascara looks brownish as well. Try darker brown on the lid and a lighter brown on the crease. Maybe you can try three shadows and just blend them where they meet.
It fades up to her brow bone so I wouldn't directly put eyeshadow there, I would just sweep it up there with a brush from the eyeshadow that was already applied on the lid.
It might take a lot of playing around so try different techniques with each eye. Try to find eyeshadow that is shimmery but not too metallic.
I don't know what your budget it, but if you can, I would recommend bringing that picture into a department store or Sephora and ask how you can do it. You don't have to buy but if you have the money and you like what they showed you, then it would be a good investment. Or they can show you how it's done and try to find the same colors at a drugstore. You can say you need to go to a wedding or prom or something and you will come back later with your friends.

it can be a bit tricky. You are going to need about three colors. APick a bronze that matches your skin tone and match one shade lighter that is a shimmer and a shade darker that is a matte. MAC is a great place to go to get help on picking the right things. First layer your eye with a cream based eye prep, next brush the shimmer color up to the eye brow to get the highlight effect, next brush the medium tone fron the corner closest the the nose to the middle of the lid blend in the darker color on the other corner with a blender brush (love MACs brush) use a shadow brush and line the eye with the darkest color blend the eyeliner out wards slowly this should help

you can get the same thing done for a much cheaper price. if you want the natural look that hilary duff has in this picture, try testing out some colours that match your skin tone. at some malls, they even give free makeovers. you can get it done professionally, then buy some of the products they used on you if you like it. good luck.

it's not brown, it only looks like it is because of her coloring and the lighting. its a dark green color she has on...almost like a moss color. you can use a green color, a dark brown, or a dark grey to replicate the look. She has a brown liner on and loads of mascara. apply the shadow from the lash line up to just above the creases. your going to need to smudge it a bit so it doesnt look so harsh around your creases. the liner is done straight across on the upper lids and half way across under the eyes. df to smudge the liner a bit too to get that smoky effect. next use a eyelash curler and then apply two coats of thickening mascara and then shimmy the wand up the eyelashes so that every lash gets picked up. gluck...email me if you want ideas on colors/brands!
