There are 17 unsecured strong wireless signals around my house and my computer connects automatically to one of those with my wireless USB adapter.

Please don't answer if you're just going to be against the fact that I use a random wireless signal instead of my own.

All I need to know is if I can somehow connect my Wii to one of those signals so I don't have to get a router.

Thanks for your help! :)

The Wii will connect with a wireless router if it has the range to do it. If your PC can connect to a random router, your Wii should be able to pick up the same signal. If your Wii is unable to pick up one of the same signals that your PC is using, you can pick up a Wii USB/WiFi adapter from any game store or electronics store that sells Wii products. It runs for $40. You plug it into your PC and it will use the Internet connection from your PC to provide a wireless signal to a Wii.

And I am against you using other connections, but I blame that on the owners of the other signals not blocking connections to their wireless signals. Just figured I would provide you with the information you were asking though.

Yes, I used to steal my neighbor's signal all the time(I will not say if it is right or wrong as long as there isn't any malicious or suspicious activity on your part). However, when she found out she would shut down her system. Extremely frustrating, especially in the middle of a game. You can buy a wii lan adapter from www.bestbuy.com, gamestop.com, and nintendo.com for under $30.00. I have broadband through my cable company and and it works wonderfully.
