Most of the time I don't feel tired until 2 or 3 in the morning. Which is not good when I have an 8 o'clock biology class.

There are a whole lot of other options to try before you should go down the path of pharmaceuticals. First off, how long has this inability to fall asleep been a problem? What are you doing prior to going to sleep? Do you exercise? Do you read? How much coffee or soda do you drink? Is your mind racing when you do try to go to sleep? Do you nap during the day or when you get home from school? These are just a few considerations you should think about and then discuss with your doctor. Too often, people jump to taking medication, when a more effective and safer alternative is within the boundaries of their own resources. Have you tried warm milk and a touch of vanilla at bedtime? Try relaxation techniques (there are many, but a few that work for me include flexing and then relaxing each muscle from my toes to my head). Just before bedtime, read your biology book (this only works if you're not terribly interested in the subject!). Avoid taking a nap during the day no matter how tired you may feel, then go to sleep at a reasonable hour (for an 8am class, a bedtime of 10pm is about right). Avoid sodas or anything with caffeine after 1pm. Good Luck~

For a natural sleep aid, try the essence of lavender oil on your nightstand.
The lavender aroma is supposed to help fall asleep!

Take a benedryl at about 10:00 pm.

Makes you drowsy. Cuts down on snoring and nighttime allergies. No chance at dependency. Lasts about four hours.
