1. Othello the Black Moor of Scottland is in love with and married to the fair Desdemona whom loves him with all her heart. He is a well respected man or virtue yet he falls from his high position due to his own folly.Out of jealousy and purely evil intentions Iago plots to destroy Othello by convincing him that his love is false. Othello falls for the evil scheme and ends up killing his love Desdemona in a fit of rage despite her pleadings and promising that she was always true to him. It is a tell of jealous, rage, and lies and human weakness. Othello gave into his baser emotions and killed his love even though he was a man of virtue he sunk to the depth of evil.

Read the play it is great or at least watch the movie with Laurence Fishburn - it follows the play pretty acurately.

This play is popular like Romeo and Juliet. You can find its themes in many of today's TV and literature.
