this make any sense?

If I eat it, I'm going to feel guilty.

Why would he do this? I purposely don't buy anything fattening.

Is it possible that he bought them so he could eat most of it himself?

It's possible that he bought them so he could eat most of them. I don't understand why he would buy you chocolates when he tells you you are overweight. I'm guessing that he bought them for himself but since it's Valentine's day he thought he's made it look like he bought them for you but really bought them for himself and wanted you to think that he bought them for you. And so you won't get mad at him if he didn't buy them.

I am sure you took them and were appreciative, right? I would say open the package, and eat just one to show you're appreciation, then let them sit around for a week or so without eating any more of them yourself. See how many more disappear. Then, and this is the important thing, bring it up and say it's not that you don't like them, but you're trying hard to lose weight to make him happy, and don't want gifts that are contrary to that. Tell him the best thing he could do is to give you a card, and show his love and support of you. This doesn't really address what I perceive to be the deeper problems. Is he physically fit? Overweight? Are you actually overweight, or does he just make you feel like you are? Is he doing anything to help you? Do YOU feel like you need to lose weight, or does he just think you do? It's most important that you be happy with yourself.

Happy V-Day!

Man, if you like chocolates, eat them up. Then punch him in the teeth. I think it's a little more concerning that your husband constantly tells you to lose weight. He should love you and support you the way you are, for what is on the inside. Yes, this was obviously a mean gesture. He could have gone a dozen other routes for Valentine's Day, with flowers, balloons, another present..whatever. It almost seems like a test. I'd eat them all....and do NOT feel guilty. Good Luck, Happy Valentine's Day!

He's an idiot. There are sooooo many other gifts he could have given you. I avoid chcolates at all cost because my wife is trying to lose weight and I am very sympathetic.

On the other hand at least he got you something. I know some wives who get nothing on Valentine's Day because their husbands either forgot or just don't care.

While chocolates aren't the most ideal gift. Be happy he got you something and explain to him how he should avoid buying sweets for you in the future. He should put 2 and 2 together and figure out better gifts on future occasions.

P.S. Happy Valentine's Day from me too!!

OH GRRR!!! men! make no sense at all do they! first off seems to me he put little thought in your gift witch ticks ya off even more then every time you eat a piece you will hear his snarlys in your head about your weight... Men sweetie have no brains when it comes to things like that... simple things never cross there mind he saw the choc's on a shelf as he was checking out of store and said to self "dam got to get her something or i be in trouble" Ya think?? he didn't think "hey she is trying to watch her weight for me" Hell NO he didn't so he brings you this torture box of choc's Did ya thank Him? First don't give him a dam piece eat them all i say and next time he says something about your weight ask him why it feels like that when you try he comes in with some sort of sabotage.. Not that i think he bought the chocs to be mean I just think he put no thought into it... So you need to in some way make him think about it this time so next he will stop himself and think a little more before acting... We love our men just wish sometimes they could think on there own... Hugs girly and enjoy those dam chocs!!

Eating once in a while will not make you more fat. You should appreciate your husbands feelings that he wants you to eat chocolates at least on this day. I am sure that you are crazy for chocolates.

You're looking too much into it. Just enjoy your gift and be happy that he remembered! I, too, bought my husband chocolates and we're both a little overweight. Your husband is trying to tell you that he loves you for YOU even if you could shed a few pounds. Or....sorry to say this, but he didn't know what else to buy???

This totally does not make any sense. But then again when do men make sense. He probably did buy them so that he could eat most of them. Don't touch them if they are going to make you feel guilty

Why would he give you a huge box of chocolate if he will say you need to lose weight. He should gave you a huge box of granola bars of protein bars. Next time tell that that to your husband that you like protein bars istead of those regular chocolate so you can be sexy for him.

Hide the candy from him and just eat one piece a day! That will teach him and it will keep you in check as far as not overeating on the chocolates.

Good Luck!
